A plain left drag now draws a box whose own units become the selection
(Shift or Ctrl adds), the right or middle button drags the map, and a
right click that did not move still opens the menu; a click on empty
map clears the selection. A chip over the map counts the selection,
selected units get a stronger ring and hovered ones a light ring and
their name. Mission-area names join the units' names in one collision
pass with symbols and clusters, so names no longer pile up. The menu
stays open through the wheel and offers Select, Centre & follow, the
eight Presidential Actions (each opens a draft, nothing is sent) and
Copy GUID / position. The map's list and layers panels are narrower and
open one at a time.

Selecting a base, carrier or group opens the inspector's Hosted tab:
its units by class with ready, readying, airborne and damaged counts,
and each unit's condition or time to ready, loadout, mission and damage.
The entity summary gains these own-unit facts (already collected; the
ready time is simulation time so the countdown does not churn it).
